We can reline, shorten, lengthen and even re-style your exisiting curtains. It can certainly prove to be a more affordable alternative!

Lining Options

Unless the design calls for otherwise all our curtains come with the lining attached using hand-sewn stitching. These traditional methods guarantee a superb finish. We use the highest quality of sateen lining which can be either in standard cream or a colour of your choice. Depending on your chosen fabric the curtains could be interlined. This is when a thick layer of fabric (interlining) is sandwiched between the main fabric and lining.

It is particularly desirable when the curtains are made from a lighter weight fabric as it gives them a much more sumptuous look and feel. Interlining curtains also increases your windows insulating properties. Should you require light to be minimised through your curtains we offer a blackout lining. Lastly for all commercial projects we work with the highest quality of FR lining in both normal and blackout.

Choice of Headings

Double or Triple Pinch Pleat

Triple pleat headings are a classic design and probably the most popular of all headings. It gives a clean, crisp finish to your curtains. The heading is created by forming a pleat at the curtain top which is folded and stitched into shape. Triple pleats give an elegant finish. A double pleat heading can be chosen for a modern approach to this faithful classic.

Goblet Pleat

For a rich and sumptuous window treatment, hand goblet pleat curtains make a stunning and more formal alternative to the classic triple pinch pleat. Made in the shape of a goblet (cylindrical shape) they are created by hand sewing each pleat into position at uniform intervals.

Pencil Pleat

This is a basic and quick heading. The fabric is gathered into small pleats similar to a row of pencils by tape attached with two parallel rows of stitching. These are pulled to gather the fabric into your desired width. Curtains with this heading would give a more casual, less structured appearance.

Eyelets

This is a simple, modern look which has become very popular. With no need for tapes, eyelet curtains are incredibly easy to hang and look great. They can only be used with poles.

Pelmets

A pelmet can take your window from so-so to absolutely spectacular! Upholstered pelmet boards come in all shapes and finishes but always add instant elegance and style to any window. Created by stretching your chosen fabric over a wooden frame with a padded front, upholstered pelmets can be adapted to any winodw shape and can have a straight or curved bottom edge. This edge can be left plain or enhanced with contrasting piping or fringing. Pelmets can be shaped to fit against irregular features such as a cornice or coving and are a good solution to hide unslightly areas.

Swags & Tails

For the ultimate impact swags and tails are an elegant and charming way to dress a window. They are particularly suited to windows that are tall or imposing. Swags and tails consist of overlapping drapes of fabric with long tails at each end. They can be anything from simple classic drapes in silk or linen to a more opulent and theatrical look using heavier fabric with tassels, fringe trimming and contrasting borders.
